Jerry and Wanda met in 1969 through a friend at church and were married two years later. They have spent over a half-century as best friends. They enjoy spending time with family and friends and traveling.

Jerry and Wanda have two beautiful, successful daughters, Carla and Kelly, a handsome, smart son-in-law, Todd, loving grandson Turner, and clever granddaughter Carson.

Wanda has been a health insurance agent since 2003. The first part of her career was as a district manager for Aflac. In 2010, she started her own brokerage to sell Medicare and Marketplace products. She is trying to be semi-retired.

Wanda has kept a journal and wrote stories since she was a girl. Writing is not something she choses to do but something she does to express her thoughts. She published a devotional, "Broken: Finding Purpose through Brokenness." She also blogs and has a YouTube channel. In 2025, she founded East Side Writers as a way to encourage other writers.

Wanda comes from a close knit extended family. Researching her Odum and Edwards family history and DNA is a passion of hers. This passion led to joining the National Odom Assembly. She currently serves as their treasurer and webmaster. Wanda is currently researching "Odoms of the American Revolution." She is a lifetime member of the Tennessee Genealogical Society.

As Jerry and Wanda transition to a retired lifestyle, they travel as much as they can. Wanda has been to all 50 states and 21 foreign countries. This year they visited Spain, Portugal, Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons. They have completed most of Amtrak's routes and have more planned.
